The Last Day of 2009 and the First Day of 2010

January 2nd, 2010

It has been a great start to a new year!

1. We hosted a New Year’s Eve dinner for our extended family. It has been a longtime since we really interacted with our cousins. Now I am the oldest and most of them were very young when I was growing up. But it was good fun playing Taboo together. Looking forward to Chinese New Year Reunion!

2. Joy and I went for the Watchnight Service at Cornerstone – our mother church. It was wonderful listening to Pastor Yang and spent the final moments of 2009 praying in the new decade. Cornerstone has been our spiritual family since 1995 and it will always be. It’s my prayer that The City will make the ‘parent church’ proud.

3. Slept in a little and woke up around 10am. Spent the early part of the day reading the Bible. I’ve decided to follow the McCheyne’s Reading Plan religiously this year. You can download it on www.thecity.sg.

4. Went to the public pool at Sengkang. Now, we didn’t really swim but it was still a fun time just getting wet with the children!

5. Went for Narmit and Eileen’s wedding dinner at Grand Shanghai. Had a pleasant time conversing with a new friend about technology and where it is going. Alvin Ng is senior management staff with CISCO systems. The plan to host a Church and Technology Conference is still in the pipeline. It seems like a possible reality now!

It’ll be a great year for the Church.. Isaiah 60:1
